Travel information

Cuba's national airline is Cubana . Virgin Atlantic runs direct flights to Havana from the UK. The airport serving Varadero—Aeropuerto Juan Gualberto Gómez—is 16 km (10 miles) west of the peninsula.

A taxi into town costs CUC$10, and transfers are available to both Holguín and Guardalavaca. The airport also sees a good deal of international charter-flight service for passengers headed for the Guardalavaca resorts.Santiago's Aeropuerto Internacional Antonio Maceo is 8 km (5 miles) south of the city center; a taxi ride into town will cost about $10.
